It is a key university under the jurisdiction of Jilin Province, a high-level applied research university with distinctive features in Jilin Province, and a university jointly built by the People's Government of Jilin Province and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.The school has 23 colleges and 1 graduate school. It is one of the first universities in China with the authority to confer bachelor's and master's degrees.
